Mission Statement

Ashley’s House Learning Center’s mission is to provide your child with the first steps to a life-long love of learning.  We strive to have every child who graduates from our pre-k program reading before they start kindergarten.  We use the award-winning Mother Goose Time pre-k curriculum.  Mother Goose Time is not only known for its excellent academic lessons, but it also includes the important social/emotional lessons that will help make your child successful throughout their academic years.

Our curriculum is based on weekly themes so the kids don’t get bored.  Our weekly lesson plans were designed by staff with degrees in Early Childhood Education and are designed to teach the whole child; academically, socially, physically and emotionally.

Through active play in our centers structured classrooms, children learn to use their imagination and play in a safe and healthy environment.

Thank you for sharing your child with us.

Infants

These rooms have 2 teachers and can have up to 6 infants 0-12 months. Our infant rooms are baby-directed. The kids eat, sleep and play on their schedules.  We do not try and put babies on our schedule, we adapt to theirs.

One Year Old Rooms

These rooms have 2 teachers and can have up to 10 children 12 months to 2 years. Beginning in our one year old rooms, the kids follow a schedule of activities of both active and quiet activities.  The all eat, play and nap at the same time.  While these little ones don’t seem like they absorb much knowledge at this age, we do have a small circle time in the mornings and afternoons where we teach the alphabet, colors, and shapes.  We also teach them some sign language.

Two Year Old Rooms

These rooms have 2 teachers and can have up to 14 children 2- 3 years old. Our two year old rooms are our potty training rooms.  The two year old rooms have a little longer circle time where they teach the alphabet, numbers, colors, and shapes.  They also learn a little more sign language and some Spanish words.  We do concentrate a good deal of our time in the two year old rooms on potty training.

Three Year Old Room

This classroom is larger and has two teachers and up to 23 3-4 year olds. Our three year old rooms are designed to begin getting your child ready for kindergarten.  The academic lessons are expanded to include cutting, holding a pencil or pen correctly, writing letters and numbers, learning how to spell their names.  The classroom also has more instruction during circle time.  We add days of the weeks, months of the year and weather to their circle of knowledge.  They also begin to learn many self-help skills, such as brushing their own teeth, washing their hands, cleaning up after themselves and making their own naptime cots.

Four Year Old Room

This is also one of our larger classrooms. There are 2 teachers and it can have up to 23 children 4-5years old. Our four year old rooms are our pre-kindergarten rooms.  We use the award-winning Mother Goose Time pre-k curriculum. The Mother Goose Time Curriculum and Assessment System is research based and supports a child’s social-emotional physical and cognitive development. We believe learning is a process and each child develops at his or her own rate.

Older Pre-K Room (Only at the West Harry location

This classroom is smaller and has 1 teacher with up to 11 children 4-5 years old. This room also uses the Mother Goose Time Curriculum and is designed for the older pre-k students who are ready to begin working on more advanced skills.
